These tiny little flowers are always the first thing to pop up in my yard. They are at the base of the steps we use most often to come into the house so I've been watching their progress. They poked their tiny little green spears up through the snow and started getting color a couple weeks ago. Now they are bursting with color. These pictures don't do them justice as the stamens are a lusty hue of orange/yellow and the purple and lavender begs to be used on a painting.
I love spring. Even if it is just the promise of it.

Oh how I would love to see them! Beautiful! Spring here in Central Oregon doesn't rear it's fresh head until, nearly literally, the first day of Spring- March 20th.

Yes, I love these little crocuses. That's what they are, right?
Anyway, they're the first things to come up around our our house, too. So lovely.
It's fun to keep your eye on nature and watch it bloom and announce it's presence.
So organic and miraculous.

I am excited to get back into the yard, winter was not kind, nor was the dog. Sigh...Can I put up the pool now?
